Nintendo Wii U – Buy it or leave it?
The Wii U – The New Game Console by Nintendo
Recently Nintendo launched its new gaming console the Wii U. Nintendo was kind enough to let us get a Wii U with two games to test the new game console for you. Surprisingly, the Wii U Nintendo console comes with all sorts of small innovations. The console is pretty interesting not necessarily for the typical male players however for everyone else, families, fathers, mothers, children, young people especially the female, social and party players. The Wii U does as from Nintendo expected make a lot of fun and we get more than expected. What´s new and whether it is worth buying a Wii U you learn here in this brief -review of the new game station by Nintendo.
Let’s us have a closer look at the Wii U. Best in the same order as I did – in the traditional unboxing style. So …. UPS rings the door bell, package is being delivered, I open it. In the brown package there is a beautiful black-blue box. The packaging of the premium package makes a solid impression. You have to know that I as a design manager emphasis design say here packaging design, so at this point, the first point for Nintendo. For me packaging design should be functional and intuitive, without the need to destroy the package. It is not the case here. Succeeded. So open up.
Inside there are two separate boxes, easy to pull out without undue disruption, intuitive, very beautiful,as I prefer it. In the top box is the console plus gamepad, in the lower the accessories such as cables and so on. Since I did not know anything about the Wii U the second big surprise: The Wii U is not only a handheld, yet not only one console but equally a handheld with a 6.2 “large touchscreen and a console. So how nice is that? No Playstation, no xBox has this and certainly not a touch panel supplied in a handheld. Such a combination allows completely new interaction possibilities, which turns games such as Ninja “throwing star” an excellent game experience. Plus, you can play the best games directly in bed before going to sleep. I find this a very good idea, which makes the practical test superbly.
The agency which represented Nintendo included only two games, what a pity, since both games are classics and me as Nintendo fan know this games already. Nintendo Land is a new but simple collection of mini-games, and even the classic New Super Mario Bros. Mario U. 2D – is known for decades. The new edition has been improved with a lots of little details, small renovations and animations as you would expect from Nintendo, overall very nice, but for connoisseurs much too boring, despite the new handheld. How does one test the console best if you already know the main game? Okay, so two for me personally boring games and a next-gen console at the start. What do I do to ease you the buying decision? The games console in general really makes a top impression. Nintendo clearly became better and fully focuses on innovation sill keeping their roots. With success. The handheld is great. The processing also very good. I’ve been surprised how far Nintendo has evolved. If the coming games should fit in the future, one should not hesitate to take up the new next-gen console. Nintendo delivers real nice ideas and just because of games like Zelda and Super Mario 3D it is worth a purchase. So from me a clear yes for a purchase also that I could not test other games.
