Transport via Airships
When we compare Europe with the United States, we can see big differences in the amount of owners of movable homes, though complete, pre-fabricated house solutions are a huge trend and have many advantages in the long-run also in Europe. Moving complete houses to new destinations is a great challenge and cost-intense at this moment. New airships, however, as the “Flying Whale” by the same-named company, could significantly increase the interest in and demand for movable houses. Regular airships can lift between 10 and 20 tons. The new generation airships in comparison will be able to lift up to 60 tons with a length of 75 meters and a height of 8 meters. The largest transport helicopter in the world manages 18 tons. The completion of two of these huge airships by Flying Whales is scheduled for 2020 with a production increase to 24 ships until 2024. Another company called Hybrid Air Vehicles already made successful test-flights of such huge airships. The following film gives you some insights into the Airlander Airship and the future of heavy transportation via airships.
